Your consultant will provide full information for your interview. This will include details of the job description and company / culture of the company. Address and contact interview details will be provided.

Make a list of any questions you may like to ask about the company and regarding the job description. Look at the core competencies in the job spec as you will need to relate your previous working experience to the interviewer. Ask yourself what your goals are for the future as often this will prompt you on further questions you may like to ask while in interview. Ie: “Should I be promoted what are my prospects with the company?” and so on. |

You should always find out as much information about the company before an interview. Reading through their website, annual reports and understanding their business shows that you are interested in working for them and shows initiative. |

It’s always a good idea to do a trial run to your interview address if you think that you could be caught in traffic or you are unsure of the location. Arriving at least five minutes early allows you take some time before an interview. Arriving late causes unnecessary stress on yourself and does not make a good first impression for the interviewer. |

Dress for Success – This is definitely true. You only get one chance to make a first impression and you want to make an impact. No, this does not mean dressing outrageously! For males if you don’t have a suit, shirt and tie will suffice, for female’s suit (skirt or trousers). This is a guide but most importantly ensure you are immaculately groomed. Your consultant will give you an idea of dress depending on the type of role. |

When greeting your interviewer always present a firm hand shake and don’t forget to smile. Maintain eye contact throughout your interview. |

Be honest when answering questions and ensure you sell yourself. Always cover any successful achievements in previous employment roles, Be enthusiastic. A potential employer is looking for a can do attitude, again “Sell yourself” you have to leave a lasting positive impression. Avoid Yes and No answers when they are not necessary. You have a limited amount of time to make a lasting positive impression of yourself and the best way to do this is to get the interviewer to know you. |

It’s best not to talk salary to a client unless they bring this up in the first interview. You don’t want to give the impression that this is all you are interested in. |
